MUSC Children's Health operates a multidisciplinary concussion clinic for children and adolescents who have sustained a head injury, with a location at the R. Keith Summey Medical Pavilion. The initial evaluation lasts roughly one and a half to two hours and pairs a history and physical with vestibular, ocular-motor and balance testing, delivered by a pediatric neurology physician assistant, a neuro-cognitive therapist/speech-language pathologist and a physical therapist. Neuropsychologists, occupational therapists and neurologists may be added as needed, and staff coordinate return-to-learn plans with the child's school.
