Liberty Hospital Sports Medicine runs a structured concussion program centered on a gradual, certified-athletic-trainer-supervised return-to-play protocol developed in consultation with a sports medicine physician. The program uses ImPACT neurocognitive testing and recommends baseline testing every two years for contact-sport athletes age 12 and older to help gauge recovery. Physical therapists provide aerobic and strengthening exercises to rehabilitate the vestibular system and ease dizziness, balance problems, and difficulty focusing.
