About
Excelsior Orthopaedics' Sports Concussion Center, directed by Dr. Jason Matuszak, was the first comprehensive sports concussion center in Western New York and runs a Play Safe Program for athletes ages 10 and up. Before the season, athletes complete ImPACT neurocognitive baseline testing; after a suspected concussion, the team uses that baseline to gauge the injury and build an individualized plan of rest, graded re-exertion, reevaluation, and clearance to return to play. Individual and team enrollment are both available.
