Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center manages sports concussions through a multi-disciplinary program aimed at youth student-athletes. Certified athletic trainers are often the first to identify a concussion and remove the athlete from play, and the program gives student-athletes prompt access to the group's non-surgical sports medicine physicians for further assessment of severity. Most concussions are handled by the athletic trainers and physician team together, with additional specialists brought in when needed.
